System Training Wins Prestigious National Training Award

Leading logistics industry training provider System Training has today lifted a coveted prize at the UK Warehousing Association Awards.

System Training collected the UKWA Training Award for its work to improve skill levels across the sector and to help drive down costs through innovative training schemes.

Held at the Dorchester Hotel in London, the awards ceremony recognised excellence in the third party logistics sector and attracted entries from some of the most influential companies in the logistics and materials handling industry.

In support of its entry System Training demonstrated how it helped the UK’s largest home delivery service reduce costs associated with fuel and garage repairs by training its staff to drive more efficiently and safely.  Home Delivery Network, currently re-branding to Yodel, significantly reduced operating costs since introducing the System Training devised programme for its staff in 2009.

System Training has also been driving forward a bid to raise standards in the logistics industry by forming a consortium of influential firms, including industry leaders such as Tesco, Bibby Distribution, MAN Trucks and TM Logistics, to establish a sector-leading benchmark for Driver CPC training.

The UKWA Awards, now in its 11th year, saw each nomination considered by the UKWA Awards Committee and winners collected their awards in front of 450 UKWA members, associate members and their guests at the Dorchester.

Robin Brown, System Training CEO, said:
“It’s fantastic to be recognised for our efforts and this is a great example of how we can work in close partnership with our clients to ensure training is intelligently applied to deliver real financial benefits. To be awarded this by our peers demonstrates how strong our offering and national training presence is.”

Roger Williams, UK Warehousing Association CEO, said:
“Congratulations to System Training on winning this award – it’s a great example as to how driver training should be considered as an investment and not an expense.”
