Outline: An approach covering first aid in the workplace specifically covering first aid provision relating to young people.
To provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and competence to deal with accidents / illnesses relating to young people in the workplace.

- Aims and principles of first aid
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- Resuscitation including CPR
- Control of bleeding and minor wounds
- Shock, Diabetes, Asthma, Epilepsy, Meningitis, Choking, Poisoning, Eye injuries, Burns & Scalds, Head Injuries, Spinal injuries, Fractures, Dislocations, Sprains and strains
- Recognition of illness & injury
- Record keeping
- Contents of first aid box
- Legal requirements
