Who is this Course Aimed at:
Any 16-24 year old wishing to develop a career within the Motor Vehicle Industry.

Course Outline and Key Objectives:
To provide a foundation upon which further development can be built, either further qualifications or entry into management. Candidates will achieve a portfolio of qualifications including but not exclusively, Key Skills: Application of Number Levels 2/3, Communication Levels 2/3, and technical certificates

NVQ portfolio, study materials.

Training Methods:
A combination of classroom training and workshop training, along with regular workplace assessments.

Course Delivery Method:
Classroom based, workshop based, own work environment based.

Main Areas Covered by Course:

You may choose an Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 2) or Advanced Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) in any of the following:  

  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicles)
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy Vehicles)
  • Vehicle Parts Operations
  • Vehicle Body Repair and Paint Operations (Body Repairer)
  • Vehicle Body Repair and Paint Operations (Body Refinisher)

For the Apprenticeship: you will also complete Key Skills Level 1 Application of Number, Key Skills Level 1 Communication and Key Skills Level 1 ICT

For the Advanced Apprenticeship: you will also complete Key Skills Level 2 Application of Number, Key Skills Level 2 Communication and Key Skills Level 2 ICT (Parts Operations only)


Final Assessment:
NVQ Assessment Level 2 & Level 3.

Official Accreditations / Awards Resulting From Course:

City & Guilds or the Institute of the Motor Industry NVQ at either level 2 or 3 depending on which course you have studied.

Technical Certificate from City and Guilds or The Institute of the Motor Industry IMI Awards Apprenticeship Certificate
